THE THIRD SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST                 JUNE 13, 2010

WELCOME  Visitors- we are happy that you’ve joined us for worship today and we extend to you a warm and heartfelt welcome!  If you haven’t received a welcoming folder, please pick one up from the table by the organ.  May the Lord bless your worship with us.  We also ask our visitors to please read & complete the yellow tri-fold located in the hymnal rack and sign the Guest Book.  Thank you!

PREPARATION  As you wait for the worship service to begin, instead of visiting with someone in a pew near you, you may want to prepare yourself for worship by reading a section of Scripture and/or by saying a prayer.  The following prayer is one suggestion.

God our Father, you work all things for the good of those who love you.  Be not deaf to our cry for mercy but rather turn our mourning into joy that our hearts may sing your praise; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”  Additional prayers can be located on pages 10 & 11 and 134-139 in the front of the hymnal.

LADIES BIRTHDAY LUNCH  It’s not too late to sign up and attend this month’s Ladies Birthday Lunch.  They’ll meet this Tuesday, June 15, at Casa Bonita, at 11:30AM.  The sign-up sheet is located on the Narthex bulletin board.

SIGN-UPS  There are still dates open to sponsor flowers on the altar and host Sunday Fellowship Hour.  If either of these areas of service interest you, please sign up on the appropriate sheets located on the Narthex bulletin board.

STV  There are openings at Smoke Tree Village (STV); the independent living retirement center located south of the Church.  Units are available at $800/month on a first come, first served basis.  Brochures on STV (along with floor plan) can be picked up from the small table under the Narthex bulletin boards.

LARGE PRINT WORSHIP FOLDERS  The office secretary is still making up 3 Large Print Worship Folders (which includes bulletin, liturgy, and hymns) for the Sunday Worship services.  If this is something that will assist you in worship, please pick up a folder (and then return when finished) from the small table by the organ.  May this worship “tool” benefit you!

SCRIP  Haven’t purchased Scrip/Gift Certificates yet?  They can be used just like cash - with a percentage of the sales benefiting Arizona Lutheran Academy.  Someone will be at

the small table in the Narthex, before the worship service, to assist you.

BACK BULLETINS  If you weren’t able to make it to Church on a given Sunday, but would still like to stay informed, bulletins from the past 4 Sundays are available from the top row (right side) of the Church Mailboxes in the Narthex.

THRIFT SHOP  Another innovative way to support Arizona Lutheran Academy is by setting aside unused clothing and/or house-hold items for the ALA Thrift Shop.  Classroom #1 has been set up as a collection center and is ready to receive these items (put your items inside the white lines).  Someone, in turn, will deliver them to the ALA Thrift Shop.  Not only will your donation help the less fortunate, you’ll also earn a rebate!
